"QualityPower" Presentation Starts Section's Program Year

Discussion of a unique new quality staffing resource launched the 2000-2001 schedule of membership programs for the Scioto Valley Section. The dinner meeting was Tuesday, September 19, 2000, at the scenic Canter's Cave 4-H Camp near Jackson.

The speaker was Mr. Terry Felker, who discussed "QualityPower: The Quality Professional Connection." Felker is the Business Development Manager for the new alliance of ASQ with Manpower Professional.

The new staffing resource serves both quality professionals seeking new or additional opportunities and companies who may be interested in non-traditional or project-related quality task assistance. It brings the talents and resources of individual ASQ members to companies who need quality professionals -- quality managers, auditors, engineers, technicians and inspectors, Six Sigma project managers and others -- for short-term projects and subsequently for possible transition to permanent employment.

Members and guests in attendance learned about the background of QualityPower, staffing trends and changing dynamics that are taking place in the Quality profession, and how the new alliance can help individual quality professionals and address organizational quality staffing needs.
