More than 50 associates and guests of the ASQ Scioto Valley Subsection came to the February 15 dinner program meeting at the Emmitt House Restaurant in Waverly.
The speaker for the evening (bottom right photo) was William V. Harper, Ph.D., CQE/CRE/CQA, professor at Otterbein College and the current Chair of ASQ's Columbus Section, sponsor of the Scioto Valley Subsection. As part of the meeting theme of "Quick and Dirty Statistics for Quality Professionals" Dr. Harper gave a presentation on the subject of statistical modeling of business processes with demonstrations of computer-animated modeling software.
This was also the Annual Meeting of the Scioto Valley Subsection. Chair Bob Rinderman discussed the state of the Subsection and Treasurer Jon Schobelock provided a financial report. Members then elected the proposed slate of officers for the 2000-2001 fiscal year.
The guest of honor for the evening was Cheryl Molebash, who has now moved to Atlanta in a new position with Mead Packaging after two years of service to the Subsection. Cheryl has been named the Columbus Section's Technical Person of the Year. Dr. Harper and Bob Rinderman (photo, top left) presented Cheryl with a plaque containing this proclamation. Mary Jo Mercier (the current Region 8 Deputy Director and now Director-Elect) presented Cheryl with a duplicate of the Columbus Section's package prepared to nominate her for the Columbus Technical Council's Technical Person of the Year award (photo, top right).
Members and guests attending the dinner program meeting and presentation included SVS affiliate Bonnie Spencer, Bechtel Jacobs, and her husband, Don (center left photo); guests Chris Maness from OSCO Jackson and Chris Hamilton from OSCO New Boston (center right photo); and guest Bethany Ashworth from Florida Production Engineering (FPE), Inc., and SVS affiliate Bob Cornell from Kenworth (bottom left photo).
